Since June 1st, 2007, the new chemicals-regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) became effective. The overall objective is to improve the protection of human health and the maintaining end enhancing competitiveness of the EU chemical industry. According to this regulation only substances as such, in preparations or in articles under special conditions may be manufactured or placed on the market in the European Community, if they have been pre-registered and registered, respectively according to the instructions of the regulation.
We, company Peter Greve Fett-Chemie GmbH & Co Kg, are committed to meet our obligations as producer of chemical substances according to REACH. We would like to inform you about the most important topics for our customers:
1. Pre-registration
Our product portfolio includes som eproducts that are exempt from REACH registration dut ot Annex IV and V of the legislation. Anyhow, all products have been pre-registered and we are in close contact with our suppliers to ensure that our raw materials are pre-registered and will be registered as well.
2. Registration
Regarding the registration of our product we are currently in the evaluation and preparation process. As you know for the registration process a close cooperation between us and you, our customers and business partners, is necessary to include the required information in our data sheets. If you have special applications, which should be considered in the exposure scenarios, if those have to be generated, an early contacr would be useful.
3. Participation and working groups
We have established an internal REACH task force to take care for all activities regarding REACH. Besides this internal team of experts, we are in an active member in national and international working groups (APAG and VCI). Furthermore we are involved in several consortia to prepare the registration dossiers.
