The International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) published the current version of its Responsible Care Global Charter in October 2015. The charter engages all undersigned companies to stick to six aspects of responsible management:
Peter Greven GmbH & Co. KG undersigned the Responsible Care Global Charter in April 2018. Therefore, we support the voluntary initiative for sustainable management.
We regard it as our duty to take voluntarily more actions than laws and regulations require.
Within the scope of entrepreneurial sustainability it is important to keep an eye on a company’s emissions. Therefore, the measurement of the carbon footprint is a good tool.
In cooperation with DFGE, the Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy we measured the corporate carbon footprint of our headquarters in Bad Münstereifel (DE). The calculation was based on the GHG Protocol Standard.
The result shows that our carbon footprint is already lower than the sector average for chemical companies. Nevertheless, our aim is to further enhance our corporate carbon footprint in order to contribute to sustainability and climate protection.
EcoVadis created an international platform for CSR ratings to support sustainability in different supply chains.
Within the scope of their analysis, EcoVadis evaluates the supplier self-assessment in terms of criteria related to environment, social issues, ethics and sustainable sourcing and creates a so-called scorecard. Those scorecards are available in the EcoVadis portal and can be shared directly with customers as well.
We are active on the EcoVadis platform since 2013. After the latest valuation from November 2017 we received the silver status again. This means our company belongs to the 30% of top performing companies tested by EcoVadis.
